WE BUILD STRONG FAMILIES… IT’S MORE THAN A TITLE – IT’S OUR MISSION
At New Life Community Church you will find ministries that will help support each member of your family in their walk with the Lord separately and collectively. Whether you are a single mother or father, a newlywed couple, engaged to be married, a family new to a church environment in need of help introducing your children to the word of God and the principles behind a life with Jesus Christ our focus on building strong families through the various ministries below and our interactive resources are here to help you as begin your journey with your heavenly Father.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY – Headed by First Lady Wyvetta Granger the purpose of the Women’s Ministry is to facilitate occasions that promote spiritual growth. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in seminars, retreats, conferences, and other events that provide you with the support every woman needs in her walk with Christ and ultimately use what you’ve learned to support your family.
This ministry also provides you with an opportunity to take part in outreach projects. NLCC is made up of diverse congregants. And we are committed to growing. NLCC opens its doors to people who don’t typically come to church in an effort to introduce them to a life with Christ. The Women’s Ministry is responsible for planning and promoting these events. In the past we have put on movie nights, craft nights, family dinners, swaps, and there’s more to come this year in 2016.
MEN’S MINISTRY – This ministry is led by Todd Stewart. The purpose of this ministry is to reach men where they are and bring them into fellowship with God minded men through the use of encouragement. No matter where your family stands on the socio-economic ladder, it doesn’t matter. All we want is for you to have a hunger to have a relationship with the Lord. We have seen it time and time again: families led by fathers following the Lord are much more likely to follow in his footsteps. Should you decide to join New Life, there is a brotherhood waiting that will help support you and keep you focused on 3 important things:
- Studying the word of God and helping one another live according to God’s plan for men.
- To serve the local church and community
- Be positive influences to our community and provide accountability with special focus on those with whom we fellowship.
YOUTH MINISTRY – Your children need support from their church family as well. Especially during their teenage years. The youth ministry serves kids 12 – 18. They meet every Thursday from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm for small group lessons, games, community outreach activities and a variety of other activities including a Hip Hop service that is in the works. This ministry is also headed by First Lady Wyvetta Granger.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING OR PARTICIPATING IN ANY OF THESE MINISTRIES, CALL NATALIE AT (618) 875-5989.
Father’s Day Message:
A Child’s First Hero
by Lady Wyvetta Granger
Power Verse: “And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” (Mal. 4:6, NKJV)
So while I understand that it is sometimes tough and even difficult to be a father in the world today, your heavenly Father has been pulling for you for a longtime and it’s a part of his preaching plan that the relationship between father’s and their children would be reconciled. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that His heart was bent toward the relationship of the father and child in the Old Testament before he chose to be silent for 400 years.
So fathers it is key to remember that not only does God see you but your children do as well. Your daughters and sons are learning more than you know. They are watching and emulating your daily actions; such as opening their mother’s car door, putting on her coat, calling your mother just to check on her, providing for the family and demanding that your daughter’s dates come INSIDE the house before a date.
Being a gentleman shows your kids that you are devoted to the woman you chose to make a family with and the family they came from. But, it’s not enough to show it, you have to solidify it by walking with the Lord and leading your family along that same spiritual path.
REFLECT: Make a commitment today to become a better father knowing that not only does God see you but your children are watching and learning from you also. In fact, you are the first role model to your child whether you care to be or not. The question is, what kind of life are you demonstrating?
RESPOND IN PRAYER TO THE LORD: Dear Lord, I’m grateful that even when I feel overwhelmed or unsure, I can rest in the fact that I have you as a perfect example. Help me to remember I am building a godly legacy for the Kingdom. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
